Match by title pattern

Group products whose titles share a common base, split by a separator. The text after the separator becomes each product's option value.

How it works

Given a base and a separator, OPTIS finds products whose title starts with the base, then uses the part after the separator as the swatch value.

Example - base Classic Shirt, separator - (dash):

Product title
In group?
Option value

Classic Shirt - Blue

Blue

Classic Shirt - Red

Red

Summer Shirt - Blue

(not matched)

Set it up

1

Choose "Match by title pattern"

Group products → Create group → Auto Groups → Match by title pattern.

2

Enter the base + separator

Type the base title and the separator that splits the option value from it. The preview shows which products match and what value each will get.

3

Name + style + save

Set the Group name, Option name, display style, and Save.

Want to do this across your whole catalog at once? Use Bulk group by title pattern - it scans every product and creates a group per base title in one pass.
