Match by collection, vendor & product type

Three closely related Auto Group methods that match on attributes you already maintain in Shopify.

Match by collection

Groups every product in a chosen collection.

• Pick the collection from the dropdown - it lists your store's collections; type to filter, then select one.

• When a product is added to or removed from that collection (manually or by an automated collection rule), the group re-syncs. This works for both manual and automated collections.

Great for "shop the look" or seasonal edits you already curate as a collection - no extra tagging needed.

Match by vendor

Groups every product with the same vendor. Useful when each brand or supplier should appear as one combined listing.

• Pick the vendor from the autocomplete list of your store's vendors.

Match by product type

Groups every product with the same product type.

• Pick the product type from the autocomplete list of your store's types.

Setting any of them up

Choose the method

Group products → Create group → Auto Groups, then Match by collection / vendor / product type.

Pick the source + name + save

Select the collection / vendor / type, set the Group name and Option name, choose a display style, exclude anything you don't want, and Save.

All three stay in sync automatically and skip draft/archived products, just like every Auto Group.
