Auto Groups overview

An Auto Group is a group built from a rule instead of a hand-picked list. You choose what to match on; OPTIS gathers the products and keeps the group in sync automatically.

Why Auto Groups

• Less work - set the rule once, no manual updates.

• Always current - re-syncs within seconds when a product's tag, collection, vendor, type, title, or metafield changes, or when a new matching product is created.

• Consistent - the same logic applies to every matching product.

How every Auto Group works

Pick a match-by method

Group products → Create group → Auto Groups, then choose a method.

Set the rule + names

Enter the source value (tag, collection, etc.) and a Group name + Option name. OPTIS shows a live preview of the matching products and the storefront result.

Exclude any products (optional)

Untick any product in the preview you don't want in the group. Exclusions are remembered on every re-sync.

Save

OPTIS builds the group and starts keeping it in sync.

Draft & archived products are skipped. Only active products are added to Auto Groups, so unpublished items never leak onto the storefront.
